Timing matters more than most people think when it comes to trimming trees. Do it at the wrong time — you can actually damage the tree. Or anything else around the tree.

Best time: Late winter to early spring

  • Trees are dormant

  • Easier to shape properly

  • Promotes healthy growth in spring

Other times (when needed):

  • Summer — for light maintenance

  • Fall — usually not ideal

  • Emergency trimming — anytime

Important to Remember:

Sometimes timing doesn’t matter as much as safety. If a branch is dangerous, it needs to be handled ASAP. Not sure if it’s the right time?

We’ll take a look and recommend what’s best for your trees — not just what’s convenient.
